About 30chan

30chan is a small, independent image-based bulletin board - a humble forum with big ambitions. We're an indie team building this in our spare time, out of our own pockets, because we love imageboards and want a freer, friendlier place to hang out. No corporate owners, no investors, no algorithms - just people and posts.

We're only getting started, and we grow one thread at a time. Stick around, start a thread, bring a friend, and help us become something great.

Rules

These global rules apply to every board. Individual boards may add their own. Breaking a rule can get your post removed and your IP (and device) banned. Using 30chan is a privilege, not a right - staff may remove any content or revoke access at any time, for any reason, without notice.

  1. You must be 18 or older to view or use 30chan. If you are under 18, stop and leave the site right now.
  2. Do not upload, post, discuss, request, or link to anything that breaks local or United States law. It will be removed and may be reported.
  3. Absolutely no sexual content involving minors - real or drawn, including loli/shota material. This means an instant permanent ban and a report to the authorities. Zero exceptions, on every board.
  4. The following are permitted only on /b/ (Random) and must be kept off all other boards: bait / troll posts, racism, furry (anthropomorphic) pornography, guro and other grotesque or gory imagery, and "GET" / dubs or "roll for X" posts.
  5. Do not post or request personal information ("dox"), and do not organize, encourage, or take part in raids, brigading, or harassment - against other boards here or any outside site.
  6. Most boards are work-safe (SFW). NSFW material is not allowed on them even when spoilered - keep it on /b/. Posting NSFW to a SFW board can get you a temporary ban and your posts removed.
  7. Post quality matters. Please avoid: irrelevant catchphrases or copypasta, deliberately garbled or unreadable text, ASCII-art macros, "ironic" shitposting, and keyboard-mash gibberish.
  8. Do not abuse the report system with false or misclassified reports, and don't reply to a thread just to announce that you reported or "saged" it.
  9. Don't derail the boards complaining about 30chan (its policies or moderation) - take it to Contact instead. It may get your post removed.
  10. No ban evasion. Evading a ban earns a permanent one - wait it out and appeal by email instead.
  11. No spam or flooding of any kind, and no deliberately evading the spam or post filters.
  12. No advertising in any form - referral / affiliate links, "offers", soliciting, begging, stream-promotion threads, and so on.
  13. Do not impersonate 30chan staff (admins, moderators, or janitors), or other users.
  14. Do not use avatars or attach signatures to your posts.
  15. No scrapers, bots, or automated posting/downloading scripts. Connections through Tor exit nodes (and some open proxies) may be blocked, and you may not use a VPN, proxy, or Tor to evade a ban.
  16. Keep threads on the right board - e.g. work-safe requests go to /req/, and random or off-topic content belongs on /b/ or /ot/.
  17. Do not upload images that carry extra embedded data (hidden sounds, documents, archives, and the like).
  18. These global rules apply to all boards unless a board says otherwise. Moderators have the final say; to appeal a ban or request a takedown, email us (see Contact).

FAQ

What is 30chan?
A simple anonymous imageboard. Pick a board, read threads, and jump in. No account needed.

Do I need to register?
No. Posting is anonymous - everyone is "Anonymous". There are no accounts or logins.

How do I post?
Open a board and use the form to start a thread, or hit Reply on a thread. Start a line with > for greentext, and use >> plus a post number to quote someone.

Is it really anonymous?
Your posts don't show a name by default, but for moderation we collect some information while on our site (see Privacy). 30chan is not a place to do anything illegal.

Can I use a name instead of posting anonymously?
Yes - type a nickname in the Name field when you post and it's saved to you (one name per person). If you'd ever like to change it, you'll need to contact support. Names that impersonate staff (admin, mod, staff, and the like) aren't allowed and can lead to a temporary ban.

How do I report a post or request a takedown?
Email us (Contact) with a link to the post.

Why was my post deleted / why am I banned?
Almost always a rule break. You can appeal by email.

Can I get my own board?
We don't hand out personal boards, but we love suggestions - request a board here and if there's enough interest we'll add it to the line-up. Supporting the project (donations are welcome) never hurts its chances.

Who runs this / how is it funded?
A small indie team, out of pocket. No ads and no investors - but we gladly accept donations to keep the lights on.

Privacy Policy

When you post, 30chan records and keeps certain information attached to that submission. The moment a thread or reply is pruned or deleted, that content comes off our server. We take your privacy seriously and don't hand out private details - your IP address, for instance - to anyone. The only exceptions are a valid court order or a legitimate request from law enforcement.

To have your data removed, submit a request on the data-removal page. Because 30chan has no accounts, we first verify that the data is genuinely yours (via a code unique to your device) - so that no one can request the deletion of someone else's data. Requests we cannot verify as belonging to the requester will not be actioned.

Tor / Proxy Policy

A large share of the abuse we deal with arrives over Tor exit nodes and open proxies, so as a standing rule we turn away connections from them wherever we can spot them. If you depend on one of these services for legitimate reasons, we're sorry for the hassle.

User-generated content (Section 230). 30chan is an interactive computer service. Everything posted here is created and uploaded by its users, not by us. Under 47 U.S.C. § 230 we are not the publisher or speaker of user-submitted content and are not responsible for it. We don't pre-screen posts, but we remove content that breaks our rules or the law once we become aware of it, and we cooperate with valid legal process.

Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any sexual content involving minors - real or drawn - is removed immediately, the poster is permanently banned, and the material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. We preserve related records for law enforcement.

No trafficking or prostitution (FOSTA-SESTA). Content that promotes or facilitates sex trafficking or prostitution is prohibited and will be removed and reported.

Adult content / 18 U.S.C. § 2257. Adult material is confined to /b/ and is for adults only (18+). 30chan does not produce any content - it only hosts what users upload - so any records required under 18 U.S.C. § 2257 are the responsibility of the original producers. Everyone depicted in any sexually explicit image must have been 18 or older. If you believe an image shows a minor or was posted without consent, report it at once via the report form and we will act immediately.

Copyright / DMCA. We respect copyright and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). To report infringing material, file a takedown notice on our DMCA form including: your contact details; identification of the work; the exact URL(s) of the infringing post(s); a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized; a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you're authorized to act; and your name as an electronic signature. We remove valid claims promptly and ban repeat infringers.
